An Invite to a Spiritual Banquet

The Lord invites us to a spiritual banquet. These words of Isaiah remind me of Jesus’ statement in the Gospel of John.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10).

My question to all of you reading this blog is this: Are you entering into this banquet through the pathway of Jesus?

He showed us the way by His life and practice. His rhythms provided opportunity to connect with His heavenly Father and live the life that he wants to live in us.

He was never in a hurry or anxious. He was always present and carved out times alone with His Father.

He spent a lot of time in hospitality with all kinds of people. It was in his community of disciples that he revealed his heart and mission.

It was his overall life in the Spirit that connected him to the life that is truly life. We are invited to enter into his life now.

When he called us to seek God’s kingdom first, he meant to tell us to focus our primary energies on God’s immediate presence. It is there that we will find life!
