Saying Goodbye

Last Sunday I announced that the end of June I will be concluding my ministry at ERCC as your pastor. It has been an amazing 12 years of serving the Lord here in Eagle Rock.

When we came (as newlyweds) I sensed that God wanted to bring this church back to health. The church was without a lead pastor for five and a half years.

The congregation had dwindled down to under twenty people. They were meeting in the Fellowship hall for worship.

I was committed to loving the people and doing what I was gifted by the Lord to do and that was preaching and teaching God’s Word.

We “limped” along for several years. Four years ago we took the step of faith in bringing in a young co-pastor.

We were blessed to not only have Pastor J. P. come to ERCC, but he brought many of you that have joined our fellowship.

In the last four years we have seen the Lord work in restoring health and vitality to His people. I sense my work is done.

It is bitter sweet for us. Bitter, because we so love being a part of this community. Sweet, because we have seen what God has done and will do here.

I believe great days are ahead for ERCC. The vision of doing what Jesus has called us to do; which is making disciples of Jesus is going to grow under the leadership of this church.

My prayer is that ERCC will not only grow locally here in Eagle Rock, but also be a sending church in extending the Kingdom of God in hearts of people.

Martha and myself will continue to do the Lord’s mission of making disciples. We are moving to the Central Coast of California and are praying that God will lead us to share the Gospel and make disciples.

Please pray for us and we will continue to pray for all of you. Our hearts are both sad and grateful. To God be all the glory!

Pastor Fred
